Trainings in Attachment, Stress and Resilience

Helios Learning · In Person & Online

Training that meets people where they work.

In the firehouse, the briefing room, the academy classroom — or on a laptop between patients. Helios trainings are written and delivered by practicing clinicians, built around the physiology and the caseloads people are already living with, and paced for professionals who do not have a spare afternoon.

“This is not therapy. This is operational intelligence for the human nervous system under extreme conditions.” Dr. Jennifer Dore, MD

Taught by practicing clinicians

Every program is written and delivered by people still doing the clinical work — not adapted from a general curriculum by someone who has left the field.

Grounded in real material

On-site sessions are customized with your agency’s own cohort data where validated measures exist. Online courses run on real clinical scenarios, not abstractions.

Paced for people with no time

Built around shift rotations and fifteen-minute visits. You leave with tools you can use on the next call or in the next appointment.

The Helios Catalog

In person and online

Two ways to train with Helios: on-site sessions delivered at your agency, and self-paced online courses you can take from anywhere. Session lengths and dates for both are being finalized — request a training or join early registration and you’ll hear first.

The Nervous System Under Fire

Attachment, Stress, and Resilience in the Fire Service

A data-driven workshop — run as a single seminar or across multiple sessions — that turns attachment theory and polyvagal science into something usable on shift. Crews learn the three-state model of the nervous system — mobilized, shut down, regulated — see how those states are already showing up in their own department’s data, and practice recognizing a state shift in themselves and in the person next to them before it costs them a call, a crew, or a marriage.

Not therapy. Operational intelligence for the human nervous system under extreme conditions.

Psychotherapy for Nurse Practitioners

Integrating therapy into the medication visit

You are already excellent at assessing, diagnosing and prescribing — and you have noticed that medication alone does not always finish the job. This course starts from the skills you have and adds the structure: which techniques are yours to use, the exact language for the conversation, and clear lines on when to treat and when to refer. Built for the fifteen minutes you actually have, not the therapy hour you don’t.

Five modules
  1. Foundations of psychotherapy for NPs — scope, modalities, refer vs. treat
  2. Evidence-based techniques — CBT, motivational interviewing, brief solution-focused
  3. Special populations — adolescents, geriatrics, cultural competency
  4. Integrating psychotherapy with medication management
  5. Ethics, documentation & practice management
